Cleric Domain for 5e
Anyone this cleric offers the fire's shelter to becomes a Guest. It might be a frightened villager, a mercenary having second thoughts, or an enemy looking for a way out, and whoever it is gets a steady +1 against everyone outside the law. The fire is older than any temple, and guest-right came with it.
Breaking guest-right at the fire goes badly. The flame answers, loudly enough that the whole table understands why somebody has to hold this office.
From 6th level the fire travels with the cleric, and any rest taken beside it is sheltered. At 17 the hearth opens wide enough to hold a battlefield.
