Procedures + d66 Events for Any RPG

Travel tends to shrink down to "three weeks pass, you arrive." Downtime goes the other way and turns into an evening of shopping the table never asked for. In both cases the stretch between the big moments never got a shape, so it takes the shape of whoever talks the longest.

This book has two procedures for that. The Trip in Legs breaks a trip into legs, each with one decision and one event and about ten minutes of table time. The party arrives in some condition, rested or watched or late or short or owed, and that condition opens the next session. The Downtime Turn gives every character a project drawn as a track of boxes, with one event a turn, so everyone at the table moves something forward in the same hour.

Each procedure has its own d66 table of events, 72 between them, and a tracker to print, called the Road Log and the Downtime Ledger. Here's one of the road events as printed:

43. The night noise. Once, at second watch, far off: bells. There is no town within two days' walk.

It'll sit beside your system's own travel and downtime rules or stand in for them, at any fantasy table.
